Shane Warne's Century: My Top 100 Test Cricketers
Shane Warne's Century:
My Top 100 Test Cricketers

With a flamboyant approach to the game on and off the pitch, Australia's greatest bowler Shane Warne is an irresistible cricketing force. In "Shane Warne's Century", he candidly profiles 100 players from every Test nation who have had the most significant impact on his cricketing life. Warne is famous for having never scoring a Test century, although he has come tantalisingly close on several occasions. He now wants to set the record straight by writing about a century of cricketing stars he has encountered during his illustrious career.

The famous names featured here include fellow Australian legends Allan Border, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting and Glenn McGrath, as well as adversaries such as Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar, Jonty Rhodes and Freddie Flintoff. Warne also puts together a dream Test match between those Australian cricketers he would have loved to have played alongside versus a team of international legends. Throughout the book, Warne opines on the serious issues affecting cricket today, such as cheating, bowling actions, sledging and match-fixing, and assesses a large number of professional relationships he has enjoyed and endured, including those with Sri Lankan star Arjuna Ranatunga and South African captain Graeme Smith. "Shane Warne's Century" is a genuine page-turner by one of cricket's most popular stars and is a must-read for all cricket fans.

Glenn McGrath - Line and Strength: The Complete Story

Glenn McGrath - Line and Strength:
The Complete Story

From working the land in Narromine to winning cricket's World Cup three times, Glenn McGrath has always faced life with fierce determination and an unerring will to succeed, despite the odds. Now, following his retirement from international cricket, McGrath shares the story of his life - in cricket and off the field. Known as 'Pigeon', he won his baggy green cap in Perth in 1993 and went on to forge a brilliant career, retiring as cricket's most successful fast bowler with 563 Test wickets.

McGrath entered Ashes folklore in 1997 when he destroyed England by taking 8 for 38 at Lord's, and he even scored a Test half-century with the bat. With leg spinner Shane Warne, he formed the most devastating bowling combination in Test history. Glenn McGrath's most meaningful achievements, however, have been off the field. With his wife Jane, a survivor of breast and bone cancers, he established the McGrath Foundation, a major fundraiser for and supporter of people with breast cancer. Here, in their own words, the McGraths discuss their ongoing battles with the disease. LINE AND STRENGTH is the tell-all story of an Australian country boy who took on the world. After battling cancer for 11 years, Jane died on 22 June 2008.

Shane Warne: Portrait of a Flawed Genius
Shane Warne: Portrait of a Flawed Genius
Shane Warne was the most glamorous and, arguably the best cricketer in the world for over ten years. He won a generation of followers by showing the fun to be had in bamboozling opponents. From the so-called 'ball of the century' that bowled Mike Gatting in 1993, to his single-handed defiance against England in the 2005 Ashes series and his key role in the 2006/7 whitewash. He is an enigma, a showman and a genius, but he is also a very human character with human frailties. Warne loves the limelight, but the limelight has also burned him. He's been in trouble over drugs, extra-marital affairs, and taking money from dodgy bookmakers, all of which have soured relations with his family and with his homeland. Ironically he is perhaps more loved by cricket fans in England than in his native Australia.

This fascinating and well-researched biography draws on interviews with Warne and many of his teammates and opponents. On the heels of Warne's retirement from Test cricket with a record 706 victims to his name, this unique retrospective tells, for the first time, the whole story behind cricket's most flawed genius.
England Versus Australia: An Illustrated History of Every Test Match Since 1877
England Versus Australia:
An Illustrated History of Every Test Match Since 1877

Since the first Test Match between England and Australia was staged in Melbourne in 1877, generations of cricket lovers have been thrilled and beguiled by what is surely the greatest sporting encounter between two nations in the modern age. This was never more evident than in the extraordinary 2005 series that saw England regain the ashes. "Australia versus England" is the product of vast research. It incorporates over 1330 pictures, from the beginning in 1877 through to the 2006-07 series when Australia regained the Ashes 5-0.

All the major scores are here, with match reports and a treasure chest of illustrations from the 316 Test matches between the two rivals. This book has enchanted young and old since its first edition in 1977 coincided with the never-to-be-forgotten Melbourne Centenary Test. It is now in its 12th edition, and more than ever it remains a gem for all who savour the game of cricket, its history and its drama.
Captain's Diary 2007
Captain's Diary 2007
The 2006a/07 Ashes series was eagerly anticipated, and for Ricky Ponting's Australian team it played out like a dream, as they destroyed England 5-0. Ponting described the series as 'the best period of my cricketing life'. Yet, an even more commanding performance was just around the corner. In a drawn out and controversial World Cup in the West Indies, the Australians were supreme, winning all their matches easily. Not even the fact that the final against Sri Lanka ended in near darkness after officials misinterpreted the playing conditions could hide the fact that this triumph was one of the most dominant in the history of Australian sport. The only sobering thought for the Aussie skipper was that in future he would have to go into battle without some of his most famous teammates Warne, Glenn McGrath, Justin Langer and Damien Martyn and also without longtime coach John Buchanan. All retired during the 2006/07 season, and in this diary, Ponting pays tribute to the massive contribution each of these men made to their sport. But though they may be gone, the captain refuses to be pessimistic. While there may never be another season of success quite like the one covered in this book, in Ricky Ponting's eyes the future of Australian cricket still looks very good indeed.
