A special feature is the zoomers, a nose cap that gives the gliders a smooth flight and takes the brunt of the inevitable collisions and crashes. Big Bubbles:
How to Make Monstrous, Huge, Unbelievably Big Bubbles (Klutz S.)
You've never seen bubbles. Not real bubbles. You've only seen micro-bubbles. The kind that come out of dime-store bottles. They're cute, of course, like tiny things often are, but this is a book about real bubbles -- 10-footers, 20-footers. The kind that can only be achieved with the Bubble Thing, the single most incredible piece of bubble-making equipment you've ever seen. For those of you who have been friends of Klutz for a while, this concept may sound familiar. Since its debut in 1987, The Unbelievable Bubble Book sold in unbelievable quantities -- in the neighborhood of 1.6 million books. Amazing Especially when you consider its two-color interior and black-and-white photography -- a medium singularly ill-suited to capturing the iridescent splendor of really big bubbles. This was a book long overdue for an overhaul. Introducing our bubble book reborn: How to Make Monstrous, Huge, Unbelievably Big Bubbles. The original text has been streamlined and updated, and the photos are now full color, so the bubbles can be appreciated in all their rainbow-hued glory. Of course, it still comes with David Stein's phenomenal Bubble Thing, along with tips and techniques for getting the most out of it. There are also bubble tricks, bubble history and directions for creating homemade bubble-making devices. Most importantly, it's still a celebration of the gentle soap bubble -- its science, spirit and practice. At last, the book really big-bubbles deserve. |

Painted Rocks [With One Rock and 1 Paintbrush and 8 Acrylic Paints]
Filled with lush, full-color photography, this rock-painting kit features two 30-million-year-old smooth river rocks, eight acrylic paints, some wiggle eyes, and a paintbrush. Young artists will be inspired to go from plain rocks to magic with nothing but their imaginations and the clear instructions found in the book. We sent blank, unpainted rocks to dozens of illustrators and kids and, just like that, we received hundreds of pieces of durable, round, authentic art by return mail. The transformation was incredible -- from rocks to magic with nothing but a wet paintbrush. Find out for yourself with Painted Rocks, a full-color book of instruction and inspiration, complete with paints, a brush, wiggle eyes and one river-smooth rock, thirty million years in the making. |

Chinese Jump Rope (Klutz S.)
Chinese jump rope is an around-the-world playground universal, and a book about it had been suggested to us more times, by more people, over more years, than any other thing we'd ever done. So, finally, we did it. Chinese Jump Rope comes two sturdy elastic ropes in different colors and lengths, and features step-by- step instructions for nine different games, as well as how to make your own Chinese jump rope out of rubber bands. The whole project came together so beautifully, we have no idea why we waited so long. |
